A Smiling Dog

FANGS are always bare A Smiling Dog

There was a man out in the city swollen from the cold.

He wasn’t greying, just, slightly dying life’s travels made him old.

So helter-skelter time fought this welter in the hundreth round.

He said, “Hey, listen sonny I don’t want your money, before I go

I’ll tell ya’ the wealths I’ve found”.

A SMILING DOG’S FANGS ARE ALWAYS BARE.

DON’T COUNT THE LINENS THAT YOU’VE SHARED.

‘CAUSE PEACE-ON-EARTH IS BURIED DEEP,

THANK ALL GOOD COMPANY THAT YOU KEEP.

REMEMBER, REMEMBER

Now, all through his story, smoke, gasp and chokey

Was Aesop, Keats and, Hess.

I listened hard to the lessons of the WORLD’S changeling guest.

REMEMBERING, A SMILING DOG’S FANGS ARE ALWAYS BARE I CAN’T COUNT THE LINENS THAT I’VE SHARED.

BECAUSE PEACE-ON-EARTH IS BURIED DEEP,

I THANK ALL GOOD COMPANY THAT I KEEP.

REMEMBERED.

These words are, now, in the hands of one of soul music’s most famous unknown musicians, Mr. J.C. Davis.

Since I must introduce him, again, to the world at large the quick synopsis is this. Mr. Davis plays the Saxaphone, has for over 50 years. He started a band that had introduced a young guitarist that, later, asked if we were experienced. During the similar time frame J. C. asked his drummer to replace the band’s lead singer. He worked out so well that the group just caught fire, they were nothing if FLAMES. After parting ways Mr. Davis saw A BRAND NEW DAY, which was revisited 40 some odd years later when a young man sang DAMN GIRL. The MAN is back after many years of beating Cancer. Above is my gift TO MY FATHER’S BEST FRIEND.

It’s been six years and, the above IS the LAST “FLAME” alive. There are NO MORE original members of the “James Brown” band. He drives a nice little Corvette and looks after his Grandchildren. ALL “the old friends” have left “the stage” to leave J.C. on his “SOLO” career.

Sometimes time reveals things when we think we’re at the end. I went to you site and left some breadcrumbs. The title is actually a song. Do you remember J.C. Davis ? If not read the credit to Damn Girl / J. Timberlake. I’d like to get it “made”.
