It’s EXCEEDINGLY [cathartic] to have the opportunity to post this on [WORD]PRESS.COM. Since the times of the [Tandy \"99\"]computer, with the “hard drive being a simple audio cassette. (Think “back engineering” folks. If You really want to hide that personal info work your way backwards to this machine, once you’ve loaded Grandma’s “pole dance” video onto the cassette pop it into a Karoke machine… the ‘hidden’ info is “HISS” !), there have been those that enjoyed the freedoms that the computer availed them,( They’re the ones still FIGHTING for [the OPEN INTERNET]!). While those that wanted to repay [college loans] turned from their Ivy cloisters, at Horace Greeley’s urge, to the grunge basted [\"BASE-TURD\"/ basterd] we’ve come to see them for. There is NO REASON to ask WHY they did it, just look at how many lawn sprinklers they have to use… IT’S the MONEY !,( to the TENTH POWER !), ask Senator [Rockefeller] about the history of such things.

“To the Quick-ness of it man”, you say, well think with me here. For all that we’ve been through of “late”: Madoff,(pronounced MADE-OFF !), “Trickle Down”, ENRON, the BANKING “[\"SHIST-DOM\"]/ system, (Yep, it’s been rocky.), and the endless parade of personal computers that the WORLD has “had” to replenish its desk tops with “Billy-Paul’s”…

When IBM’s representatives mentioned that they needed an operating system, Gates referred them to Digital Research (DRI), makers of the widely used CP/M operating system.^[30] IBM’s discussions with Digital Research went poorly, and they did not reach a licensing agreement. IBM representative Jack Sams mentioned the licensing difficulties during a subsequent meeting with Gates and told him to get an acceptable operating system. Microsoft made a deal with SCP to become the exclusive licensing agent, and later the full owner, of 86-DOS. After adapting the operating system for the PC, Microsoft delivered it to IBM as PC-DOS in exchange for a one-time fee of $50,000. Gates did not offer to transfer the copyright on the operating system, because he believed that other hardware vendors would clone IBM’s system.^[31] They did, and the sales of MS-DOS made Microsoft a major player in the industry.^[32]

To wind this post “up” I want to make a shameless plug for an Operating System that most of you either don’t know about, or are just too indoctrinated to learn and use… [LINUX]. I’m “writing this through Linux Puppy 4.25, but there is a version called [\"DSL\"]. DSL works, ENTIRELY, from a computer’s [R A M]… and ONLY 56 mega byte of it at that ! YES, an entire OS out of 56K. It’s the atom of the computer age “BIG BANG”, wandering CIRCLES around Redmond, and does with a 386 what Windows ATTEMPTS through a terra-flop edition.

Is there ANY wonder why General Motors fell ? They made cars that got over 45mpg not too long ago, (GEO METRO.), but slide us cars that DON’T get the [mandates of 1985]. Microsoft has kept this practice aloft, but each en-”SUING” theft uncovered will render another business staple in need of government Cialis. Giving the addage “They BLUE IT!” an altogether new, (But TRUE.), definition. It would be prudent for Microsoft to create their own “fabrics”… with dyes that don’t bleed as red(mond)ily.

Sen. Charles Schumer is what rep-RESENTATIVE government in this nation has been allowed to [B-come]. The actual disposition of these reprobates is this…

If anything those like Schumer need a serious, AND THOUROUGH, mental, physical and spritual [CIRCUMCISION] !!!

And, WHY didn’t this Senator Report/ ADMONISH HER fellow rider…
Schumer was sitting next to his fellow New York Democrat, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, at the time. Her office would not say whether she heard the remark but said she believes Schumer “did the right thing by apologizing.”

As a man-of colour, at the momentum blessed side of coming to age 60, I tap these keys in earnest to you, ( AND, those you’ve surrounded yourself with.), on the QUESTION(S) of… What IS YOUR plan FOR those IN, and OF AMERICA ?

# 1.) WHY has your administration left the CROOKS and THIEVES in charge/ control of where your VOTING base “CAN LIVE”?

#2.) WHY do you allow ‘Business’ to continue their culture of intimidation through closing off the CITIZENRY’S many INNOVATIONS ? (Those TINY little things called IDEAS/ AVENUES of PRODUCTION.)

a.)WHY does the “labor”administration allow companies to steal their employee’s “nuggets of gold“, that were extracted from THEIR MIND FIELDS ,when you can see that [eminent domain],in its current forms, only leads to theft by those that implement it on its very short side.

b.) WHY do you continue a “WAR” in a region that WILL NOT allow you to attain the OIL that “bilge-a bird”dangled before our greed mongers ? Russia may have left the area but they, still, have the “trust” of those that steward the surface where [transportation\'s BLOOD] and [cartographical coinage] are destroying AMERICA’S “best and brightest”.

c.) WHY are you KILLING the chance of another “MAN-of-COLOR”, ( instead of creating a new AFRICAN DESCENT.), being elected to lead this nation’s citizenship?

The sad thing about the “once upon a times” are simply a matter of PERSPECTIVE, the distance of “descent” from what ever level an accuser stakes their report of the demise of the accused’s abilities. Some of the “fallen” don’t even recognize what has, supposedly, happened to them. Sixteen year old [Alberta Hunter] wrote a few of [Bessie Smith\'s] most recognized ‘work’/ MUSIC, yet didn’t begin her own career until she’d lived an entire other lifetime.

We’ve gone through the temporal stage of [payola] and the [\"race records\" eras. But if you can find some of those "forgotten" stars of those times you'll find that they didn't disappear, but found more lucrative gigs. Remember that the cast of "[Amos and Andy"] were ’somebodies’ before they had to replace the melinin-lacking originators.

But, no matter. There have been this world’s population that have gone “TO”, “FROM”, the crux of this terse is that the third part of “TO/ FROM” is NOW. I don’t know if Morgan Freeman is the Author of this, but I believe he was quoted to say that…”ADVERSITY doesn’t build CHARACTER, IT REVEALS IT“. Whitney Houston Brown has stepped through the briers and brambles planted in her path, ‘THOUGHT IT OVER’, and re-entered life in a manner that can only be termed as a MASTER CLASS.

The maturation of her voice and expression HAD to be learned by ["osmosis"]… (until she’d “HAD ENOUGH” !). But as the video shows THIS is going to be one of the BETTER classes that have been given in SOME TIME !

[USA-TODAY] wrote that 55% of ALL cars sold under the highly touted CASH-FOR-CLUNKERS version of the [THIMBLERIG]/ STIMULUS PACKAGE. What the STIMULUS PACKAGE presents for this administration is its own version of removing another set of our freedoms with the false flag of the trimmings of a Bush … the very thing fought for at the mines of Matwan, WVA, that’s where the term [#2. REDNECK] seems to stand strongest. And, as I’ve broached the term, here’s a view of the bombastic brouhaha of Obama’s “century-and-some” days of ["so-far-so-good"] that the ENTIRE country is feeling.

Now, as coal fuels America’s energies for home and business, getting to the business FROM home is the fishiest of kettles since they found oil in [Caldwell, Ohio] looking for Salt. (It’s a cinch that most voters are feeling the sting of how their ‘elected’ are pouring such onto the the wounds of the economy !)

Now that GM and Chrysler have have been paid for services UN-RENDERED they have settled back to let our (dis)interest grow within those same “gubmint” stimuloused ‘bid-less-es’ called BANKS, (Yes, the very people who ‘USED’ to have that job of loaning monies to get “things”.). First they tell us that the vehicles purchased with “CRASHED…DEBUNK-US” monies from our Great(to the FOURTH POWER!)-Grand (mal) Children’s retirement funds were for things that got, MAYBE, TWO MILES PER GALLON BETTER than their previous ‘RAPE-MOBILE’. To top that off only about 25,000 of our,almost, 300,000,000 citizens could use the “FIRST” ‘Auto- Stimulus’ package. (Please excuse this bit-o-adult content but HASN’T it seemed that there have been too many of our elected using their own version of an “auto-stimulus” for their packages ?)

And the “funny” thing about that 55% is that Japan and Korea are the ones seeing the Grand “chillwren’s” future via the “gubmint”- give-away. It’s too bad that Detroit has become a “planned” urban ” WASTE-LAND”, by their own waste-full designs. And, have you noticed just how many television commercials show cars smoking their tires/= wasting energy ?

Just who Do we trust to provide this nation with reliable transportation… and the jobs that make the “getting there” a TRUE reason to TRUST their decisions? As [predictify.com] tells us things won’t change much as far as car makers giving America real gas saving wheels, but there is a horizon that holds [promise]… but THEIR offices AREN’T in this country.

August 6, 2009: You know it’s as if I was reading someone’s mind. Those with the most to lose, (or GAIN.), have taken the situation by the closest straps they could get their hands on and have told the “(w)hole” of Washington,D.C. [\"THANKS\" much,] but you DON’T know the process as efficient.

Is there ANY way to retrieve the news articles, written in Arabic or Hebrew, that describe what THEIR VIEW of what was happening in ‘America’ during the 1960s ? How the government(s) of the United States was “handling” the “NEGRO” [\'STRUGGLE\'] to achieve THEIR rights as a [PEOPLE]*.

It’s amusing/ bemusing, ( isn’t it interesting that these two words follow such a distinct pattern… of pronouncement, and the closeness of spelling ?), that the “news” agencies of today haven’t brought us that ‘TRUTH-FULL’ bit of knowledge. That “IN-DEPTH” inquisitivity brought to us with a “JUST the FACTS, Ma’am” simplitude. It would be interesting to witness Andy Rooney’s World War Two G.I. Battlefield REPORTER’S MOXEY presenting a discussional grilling to Rick Sanchez,or Glen Beck.

And, as *PEOPLE go about their histories of ABUSE, and collective mistreatments, in the foundational “stakements” throughout the FOURTH ESTATE, they quickly try to [cover] their ‘cries from a wilderness’, through a “Movin’ On UP”, after steerage to Mr, ELLIS’ Island. To settle ON [\'WACKER\' Drive]. So, now that the “struggle” has changed to another set of feet the shoe REMAINS the same, it just has a style CHANGE, ( Regional or Religional.), but its PURPOSE IS THE SAME in function… to make for the unencumbered, safe travel through LIFE for ANY and ALL who walk upright and have the capacity of speech’s communications between said animals.

If this quandary hadn’t crossed your mind throughout these past few time cycles go through your mental rollodex of life, with all those ‘tainted’ notes. And as you go through those vignettes that fill your “movies” of life, remember that the ’scripts are written LONG AGO… And we forget the writers ONLY because they’re NOT part of “OUR NEIGHBORHOOD”, they don’t “SEE” or ‘BELIEVE” as “WE” do.

As we “witness” these “CURRENT” events remember to LOOK BACK, because it was succinctly described by Martin Niemoller…

So as you see and hear what the media says is happening, ASK QUESTIONS… you may be on the next list of contestants.

Investigators Review Events Leading to Shooting of Officer

Investigators on Friday were trying to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting of an off-duty New York City police officer by a fellow officer who mistook him for an armed criminal on a dark and mist-shrouded street in East Harlem late Thursday night.

The slain plain clothes officer, Omar J. Edwards, 25, of Brooklyn, who was assigned to patrol housing projects, was shot in the arm and chest after a team of three other plainclothes officers in a car saw him chasing a man on East 125th Street between First and Second Avenues with his gun drawn, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said.

Sources identified the officer who fired the shots as Andrew Dunton, a four-year veteran of the force from Long Island.

According to investigators, Officer Dunton and the two other officers assigned to the anticrime unit in the 25th Precinct got out of their vehicle and confronted Officer Edwards. On Friday, the department was investigating whether the officers had identified themselves or demanded that Officer Edwards drop his weapon before Officer Dunton opened fire.

Mr. Kelly said two of six bullets fired from the officer’s 9-millimeter Glock struck Officer Edwards, who had just come off duty and was not wearing a bulletproof vest.

Officer Edwards, a recently married father of two from Brooklyn, was taken to Harlem Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:21 p.m. No one else was injured.

“While we don’t know all of the details of what happened tonight, this is a tragedy,” Mayor Bloomberg said during an early morning news conference at the hospital. “Rest assured we will find out exactly what happened here and see what we can learn from it so it can never happen again.”

The Manhattan district attorney, Robert M. Morgenthau, said his office was investigating the shooting and that the case would be presented to a grand jury. But he cautioned that it was standard procedure to bring all police shootings before a grand jury, except in very few cases in which it is clear that the shooting was justified.

“Whenever there’s any question about justification, it goes to the grand jury,” Mr. Morgenthau said.

The shooting has once again raised questions again about departmental procedures involving communications among plainclothes officers — particularly those in different units — as well as issues of race.

Officer Edwards was black, and Officer Dunton is white.

The Rev. Al Sharpton said on Friday that he was “concerned of a growing pattern of black officers being killed with the assumption that they are the criminals.”

“This calls for federal investigation and intervention to sort out the facts and bring about a just resolve,” Mr. Sharpton said. “Can police investigate themselves fairly and impartially? It would seem very difficult at best and unlikely in fact.”

Mayor Bloomberg said on his morning radio show that investigators were reviewing security tapes of the shooting, which he maintained was not deliberate, and interviewing witnesses. Investigators were also questioning the man Officer Edwards had been chasing.

“The only thing that can come out of this is to improve procedures so perhaps it doesn’t happen again,” the mayor said. “We all know policing is a dangerous job and accidents happen when people have guns in their hands, even legal guns in this case which they are authorized and trained to use.”

He added: “It’s easy for people to say, ‘oh, you know, how can this happen,’ but when the adrenaline is running, and you don’t know where the bullets are coming from, and you don’t know who that person is on the other side of the street, it’s easy to second guess. That’s why they are trained. Can you ever do enough training? I suppose not.”

The department’s policy manual — the Patrol Guide — is specific in putting the responsibility on the off-duty officer in such situations.

In one section, titled “confrontation situations,” it says that if an off-duty officer is trying to make a arrest and is confronted by an on-duty officer, that the off-duty officer must abandon the arrest effort and comply with the on-duty officer’s orders.

“In such encounters, the actions of the members in the first few seconds are of vital importance,” the guide states. “It must be absolutely clear in the minds of all members of the service that in any confrontation, the burden of proving identity rests on the confronted officer, whether on or off duty. The challenging officer, however, also has a responsibility to use sound tactics and judgment in approaching the situation.”

For member of the Police Department, the tragedy was compounded because Officer Edwards’s father-in-law is also a police officer stationed in the 67th Precinct in Brooklyn, officials said.

Dozens of officers gathered outside the Harlem Hospital Center emergency room early Friday morning.

Mr. Kelly said the tragic string of events began when Officer Edwards left duty about 10:30 p.m., approached his car and saw that a man had broken the driver’s side window and was rummaging through the vehicle. The two scuffled, and the man escaped Officer Edwards’s grip by slipping out of his sweater.

A police official said officers at the scene learned that Officer Edwards was a colleague only when they ripped open his shirt in an effort to revive him and saw a Police Academy T-shirt. They then searched his pants pockets and found a badge.

Officer Dunton and his two colleagues in the car that spotted Officer Edwards — one of them a sergeant — were all assigned to the anti-crime unit from the 25th Precinct. Investigators were interviewing the two officers in the car who did not fire at Officer Edwards. The department does not interview officers involved in fatal shootings until a prosecutor determines whether criminal charges will be brought.

The man who apparently broke into Officer Edwards’s car, Miguel Santiago, was also being interviewed by investigators, officials said. The police said his five previous arrests include charges of robbery, assault and drug violations.

There have been at least two cases of off-duty police officers being shot by colleagues in the New York region in recent years.

In January 2008, a Mount Vernon officer, Christopher A. Ridley, 23, was killed by Westchester County police officers in downtown White Plains as he tried to restrain a homeless man whom he had seen assault another person.

And in February 2006, a New York City officer, Eric Hernandez, 24, was fatally shot by a fellow officer while responding to a 911 call about a fight at a White Castle restaurant in the Bronx.

Thursday night’s shooting occurred near the approach to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (formerly the Triborough).

Maalik Lane, 20, was waiting for a bus nearby at 125th Street and Third Avenue when, he said, he heard more than five gunshots.

“I saw police, up to 20 police cars,” driving by at high speeds, said Mr. Lane, who lives on Wards Island. “I was, like, someone is having a shootout with police. The bus driver said, ‘Somebody shot the police.’ ”

Mr. Lane added, “I feared for my life.”

Just before 1 a.m. Friday, the ambulance parking bay at the hospital had been roped off, with six police officers standing sentry. More than a dozen officers, some in uniform, others in plain clothes, paced and waited for news.

After the news conference, about 3 a.m., officers left the hospital, several in tears and consoling one another.

On Friday morning, members of the Police Department’s football team, commiserated over their teammate, colleague and friend — “a great guy,” as Det. Ed Gardner put it — during a practice at Erasmus Hall High School.

“We are a little sluggish today,” said Detective Gardner, one of the team’s administrators. “Everybody is like, it is like you are missing a family member.”

It was not long ago that the team lost another member to friendly fire: Officer Eric Hernandez.

“Omar is the same type of person,” he said. “A great man.”

Detective Gardner said that Officer Edwards, though not a starter, played on the team last year. This year he was taking time off because of his recent marriage.

“He was a team player, he said, “and he was all about team.”

(When is the time when “TEAM MEMBERS don’t KNOW each other!?!)

These questions are part of what has happened to us these past eight years. Do we want to make the time to, not only, answer them… but fix them? One can’t fix something unless they know its broken.

It seems that in order to remain viable in this societal slurry one must use the negative to sell their thought and opinion. Rob Oller, of the Columbus Dispatch, (“DESPOT”.),in Ohio wrote his daily sports oriented commentary, for the May 9,2009 issue, with the headline: “BASEBALL HALL needs wing for drug users”. It’s to be found in section C, front page.

Now we’ve all been hearing about how all of these “PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS” have been a disservice to sport in general. But, if there is to be a special area for those with having had the need to make sure that their competition was “held at bay” then I must agree with Mr. Oller. So let’s make a special, but separate building for the likes of the TY COBBS who threatened BASEBALL itself if it allowed those “Dang NIGGRAHS” to play the “WHITE MANS SPORT”, you’ll notice that there are quotation marks someone SAYING that TY made the statement…[but movies always tell the \"truth\"],so I just “know” that there should be another wing, at least.

And the “good lord almighty” has punished ALL those infernal miscreants who had gone through life imbibing those substances that [\"GOOD FOLK\"] know better of.

It seems that a true “NEWS REPORTER” would “know” about, then tell the world of one of sports’ truest individuals, [Mike Dempsey]*, a man that had earned, almost FOUR TIMES as many OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS as Michael Phelps… AND a “HOMETOWN HERO” TO BOOT.

But, I guess in the present economy that “researching for ones next possible “PULITZER” prospect is easier when someone else has excavated the site… and it’s your turn to walk through the turnstile.

To give credit to someone who accomplishes what they are required Rob Oller HAS been reporting on sports events for some time, and remains employed by the only newspaper in Columbus, Ohio.

An American, Theatrical, salute to those who served in the armed forces and their communities. And how their talents can never be diminished.

On this past April 16th, 17th, and 18th of 2009, (A.D.), the Franklin County Veterans Memorial stage welcomed back a 67 year old COMMUNITY THEATRICAL EXTRAVAGANZA for the 49th, and final time,(for it playing there.), on its stage. Vaud-Villities was and IS the collective VOICES, DANCE SHOES and INSTRUMENTS of men and women raising money for their various passions of communal charity.

It began with the 27 men of the FIRST COMMUNITY CHURCH’S ‘Men’s GLEE CLUB’, and it grew to be the “NOTATIONALLY NOTABLE” production of various glee clubs of the COLUMBUS, OHIO area. Its growth and popularity taking it from a small high school stage to a venue that even Jimi Hendrix chose to display his talent. This assembly of ‘NEIGHBORS’ never forgot those that fought and died to create, or ASSURE, their abilities to live as they have, and DO.

Each of this year’s production began with a Men’s chorus of Servicemen, (Active, Former, and a few costumed.), entering the auditorium walking down the left and right audience aisles to enter the stage from the proscenium’s steps and cross to center stage, shaking the proffered hand of the Airforce, Marine, Navy or Coast Guard representative to the tune of “HI, NEIGHBOR”. As the chorus of men then stood on risers an HONOR GUARD carried “BETSY’S BRILLIANCE” the width of the stage, the tonal salute to each branch marking its resting point, the audience clapping cadence. Bob ran track in his youth and kept some of that “Middle Distance” energy through all these years. His musical talent has been passed to his children; his youngest now with the United States Coast Guard playing her “EIGHT TO THE BAR”.
